AIR DEF2018

The AIR Diaspora Engagement Forum – AIR DEF serves as a key platform to promote collaboration between all stakeholders, including Remittances senders, Regulators, Policy makers, Private Sector, International organizations and Development partners, on initiatives and policies to reduce the cost of remittance transfers to Africa and leverage migrant remittances for social and economic development in Africa.
The 2nd Diaspora Engagement Forum will build on the recommendations of the 1st DEF held in Geneva, Switzerland in 2017. Around 100 participants from Europe-based Africa Diaspora organizations, AIR Partners, Academia, Think thanks, African and European Governmental Agencies and Ministries will reflect over two days, on 3rd and 4th May 2018, on innovative strategies to leverage remittances for job creation in Africa under the theme: “Leveraging Diaspora remittances for SMEs development in Africa: Implementing innovative strategies.”
